Thread: New Book: The Making of the Empire Strikes Back

  1. You know how you make that thing better? Throw some speakers and a tape deck in it. Shape's already there.

I love Empire Strikes Back and all, but to call Star Wars weaker is so wrong. Star Wars is the movie that created blockbusters, and Titanic and Avatar never sold anywhere near as many tickets as it; highest grossing is an overstatement, when you take into consideration that a movie ticket in 1977 was less than $2.50.

This is a stupid argument. Dora the Explorah, Sesame Street, Mr. Roger's Neighborhood, and Blue's Clues are made for children specifically. Some movies, such as Star Wars, are made with a broader audience in mind. It's a movie you can take your children to and not have to worry about any uncomfortable talks later that night, you can both get home and be like "COOL!"

    Stop being idiots.

Was he smart? He had glasses. I never watched the show much because I thought the art was hideous.

  8. He was the fence sitter.

Gone back and taken a look at that show, apparently Peter Chung of Aeon Flux had a big hand in the show; I'm guessing a lot of the weird angles and fish-eye shots had to do with him.

sure it wasn't all the nude characters with thongs? I could swear the first season of rugrats was full of them.

  10. Other thing Peter Chung did: the opening sequence to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
