I saw this! Be a few drinks in, it'll be fiiiine. It's not one of the all time classics or anything, but the jokes that work do well.

One of the few special effects comedies where the effects don't detract from the jokes.

But I'm passing on this, at least until it's on HBO.

I was four drinks in which wasn't enough to make the movie funny. There were only a handful of good lines. The majority of the comedy came from adding profanity to purposefully cheesy fantasy dialogue (e.g. not just "magic," but "magic, mother fucker," from the trailer).

The weird thing about this movie is... does anyone actually make serious medieval movies anymore?

Ridley Scott. But they're not any good and include epic battles for no apparent reason.

Everything Yellerdog said was 100%. I wasn't rolling in the aisles but I had a good time. I knew what to expect going in. The visual effects were actually really well done. The magic hand dragon was clever. Could have used a few more tits.
