When people saw game play of a terrible looking game they somehow thought it looked awesome. When people saw a teaser trailer from an awesome franchise with a solid and recent track record they thought the game would suck. Yeah, that's retarded.

No one claimed GotY, but there were tons of people in there genuinely excited and now the demo hits and they're all seeing what they should have seen when someone else was playing the same game for them. Meanwhile, a CG super early teaser completely removed any faith in this game for some of the same people. Shits stupid no matter how you try to defend it.

A teaser with an entirely different style and focus. And a completely different logo. And lots of crap the producers were talking about has been sidelined. In other words, the game was retooled due to those same stupid complaints.

As for the video, the track deformation looks annoying.

I find it hard to believe that any fan of the original wouldn't have been repelled by the first trailer's attempt to bro it up hard. Brick Hardbody was racing down the slopes on some secret mission from the government. Fuck that.

What they've ended up with is something completely different, and hopefully because of the ton of negative feedback I'm sure they received.
