I'm not clear on what BioWare gets out of that arrangement; Mass Effect is already more interesting than Star Wars...

I have bought DLC in the past and I will in the future, but with the exception of Halo maps and Fallout expansions I can't name anything that was really worth the money at the time.
I much prefer the Valve strategy and it worked for selling me games years later.
Yes. There's a reason I buy Valve games day one and wait for Game of the Year editions and big sales on other publishers' games. I'm looking at you, EA.
Mass Effect is a rounding error in the brand value and recognition comparison. That is what they get out of it.
So, brand Yes, more interesting games No.

Obviously, if we're talking the last five years. Now if you allow me to bring TIE Fighter in for example...
TIE Fighter has been dead and buried for longer than the primary 2010 audience for Star Wars product has been alive.
Based on how many original trilogy products are still out there, I think you have that audience misidentified. Now get back on topic.
TIE Fighter DLC please.
