Probably about 36 of those hours are me just fucking around. And it never got old, even a little bit.

  2. 9. L.A. Noire

This game was pretty good. It was at its best when you were in homicide and chasing the Black Dahlia murderer. It almost felt like a video game version of the movie Seven. Besides that, the story was pretty solid but I found the main character really unlikable. The interrogation seemed to be kind of hit or miss too but maybe that was just me over thinking things. Overall it was a pretty cool experience and I would welcome a sequel as long as these mother fuckers stop climbing drain pipes. That shit was a bit out of hand.

  3. Much as I didn't think I would like it, I ended up loving the arson cases. It felt like I was in Chinatown.

#14 - Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus (PS3) 100% Trophies

I remember being really impressed by this game when I played it originally on release, and it still holds up fairly well. Did the thief sprints even though they weren't linked to trophies. Some of them were hard!

Playing Sly 2 now, I had never touched it before but going back to play it I couldn't help but notice that it's basically a simpler Assassin's Creed years before that game was ever made. Weird!

  5. The Sly series is really great, I think a lot of people skipped it for whatever reason.

  6. There was a glut of 3D platformers at the time, and Sucker Punch couldn't throw the same marketing muscle behind Sly as the Sony-backed Insomniac and Naughty Dog could with their franchises.

  7. Don't think I've liked many Insomniac games.

They make very technically competent games that I find very boring to actually play.

    Ding.

Yeah, Mech is dead on with that. Naughty Dog and Sucker Punch are far better than Insomniac, mostly due to having "it" -- that intangible quality that ties the check marks together.
