More people are not collectors than are. Many of us were, but grew out of that phase sometime after ECM went into exile.
There's just no point. It's just stuff. I prefer having a clean, organized room full of things I find personally worthwhile than just having a load of junk lying around like a redneck's front yard.

But you didn't answer my original question, what are you using it for instead?
cocktail parties? Yoga? Making it into a baby room?
I'm sure there are plenty of valid reasons. I've even given some. But no one doing it, has.
Just crap like "I don't need stuff" 'Too much stuff" "I don't want stuff anymore"
What does that even mean on its own. "It's just stuff. Nobody needs more stuff."
There is a whole argument required to make that statement have any weight, and you aren't giving it. It is meaningless left on its own. It is like saying Mark is just people. Pizza is just food. Mustangs are just cars. The earth is just a planet. It has no importance, it's just something other.
lol, the evolution of post. I C WAT U DID THEIR
"I prefer having a clean, organized room full of things I find personally worthwhile" and owning a collection of anything are not mutually exclusive concepts. Look at that picture of Melf and his kids. That room is organized and looking at the time he spends with his kids, it is all personally worthwhile.
I don't live in a big country house, so I need an uncluttered space that can be used for whatever I need it for at the moment. Most of my hobbies don't require a lot of stuff, and those that do are outdoor activities. I also really hate dust, and organized or not, shit that's kept out in the open gathers dust. I don't actually have less stuff than I used to though, it's just less conspicuous and more portable. For me, replacing a huge shelving unit full of optical discs with a NAS box in the closet is progress.
clearly you do. Your first post in this thread was about getting rid of stuff. It wasn't about how he could organize it, which was what he was asking for help with.
"how can I organize this stuff"
"get rid of it"
"I don't want to"
"you don't need stuff. No one needs stuff."
"aren't you being a little crazy?"
"I don't care what you do with your stuff. This is just how I personally feel"
"but you advised me to get rid of my stuff..."
Y'all posting in a Professor thread.
Boo, Hiss.
Good news everyone!
I invented boxes, shelves and cabinets. You can now organize all your things and not live in a disheveled mess!
