Also, this is a Tri-Ace game.
Finch just beat this game, it's 5 hours long. Thank god Snow was dead at least, and Hope became a badass, seriously put Cloud to shame. The Demo is about the middle of it. Not worth $60 though.
Also, this is a Tri-Ace game.
What, how do I say that like it's a bad thing.
It's an amazing thing. How did no one mention that they had a hand in this development.
How is it an amazing thing? tri-Ace are shit.
Resonance of Fate was the last (Japanese-developed) JRPG I enjoyed. Suddenly I'm interested in this game.
Seriously, RoF was a lot of fun. Note there's still a lot of FFXIII in this game, but most of it isn't the bad. They really did set out to fix a lot of the bad; I'd say the only bad still there is a lot of Lightning's nonsense talk, and that's just in the very beginning.
Coworkers, Gamestop employees, people I meet at conventions (anime and comic/animation), and some kotaku folk.
As much fun as it would be to make this up, it's true. I just had a conversation with my boss over lunch (who loves FF13) why he hates FF12 so.
OT: As much as I want to hate it, I'm liking 13-2. It's hilarious!!! Try to watch the opening scene and not bust out laughing with how melodramatic it is, how serious it wants to take itself and then *WHOOSH* I'mma purple-haired badguy flying like a Saiyan, changing into Galvatron that transforms into a dragon.
It's hilarious, campy fun. Although SE didn't intend it, that's fine.
Some of the dialogue choices are (intentionally) hilarious. For example, when Noel asks about Snow, respond that he's "Just a cool guy!".
This game is ace! It's not short on nonsense, but it helps that the game doesn't take itself too seriously in the first place. i am currently grinding the shit out of the post game of FFXIII, but i look forward to getting tired of it so i can move on to this one
Donk
Also, Noel is not that bad of a character. He's designed like a trainwreck (the only way Nomura knows how!), but at least his character is likable. I'm glad that he chastises Serah for being all damsel-in-distress and whining about it, when she could've gone looking for Lighting WITH Snow.
Noel's biggest charm is thinks like an actual person, not like some stereotyped trope.
