It was also alluded to in the banned-words list he showed Liz.
The last scene was also a riff on the old NBC show St. Elsewhere.
Final episode was acceptable.
I like how the final shot was about Kenneth andhow he's immortal, maybe the best running joke on TV.

I went to go see Judah Friedlander (Frank) live instead of staying home and watching this. He didn't even acknowledge he was on stage while the last episode was airing.
It was a good run! Liked it all and for good measure, here's a great Kenneth super cut: http://www.vulture.com/2013/01/video...backstory.html
Ill really miss this show.
TGS in syndication in Greece and then it just took off from there.
I think the show ran its course. Season 7 had some pretty poor episodes. If 30 Rock had a deal like Curb Your Enthusiasm where it could go away for a couple of seasons and come back, I'd be all for it going on, but I really think it was running out of steam.
Yeah, I think it was time for the show to end too.
I'm never opposed to a show going out on its own terms. Getting cancelled for low ratings sucks because you don't get to wrap things up or say goodbye, but deciding to wrap up is the opposite of that.
Frankly, I kind of wish we did things like the UK or Japan where most shows were stand-alone series, with the possibility of a second series or two to follow.
I agree with that. Breaking Bad is one American show that really cemented its story arch with a planned end. It seems to work.
Another show that ended up being better than it should have with a planned 5 season arch was Supernatural. It should have ended there--The newer seasons have been noticeably meandering even if fun and entertaining.
