SE is giving us Final Fantasy IV yet again, this time on the PSP. In this version they're including the full game, the WiiWare only sequel The After Years, and a new chapter joining the 2 stories together. It looks like they're using the same engine that they updated FF and FF2 with on the PSP a few years ago. Release date is April 19th and it'll retail for $29.99
I really hope they include both the Lunar Ruins from the GBA port and the extras thrown into the DS remake.
I'm down for it just because I never got around to playing The After years before and I'm much more likely to get through the whole thing on a handheld.

I'm sorry for being mean, Timber, i really think Final Fantasy IV DS was the best the game could be and will be. it's a pretty good game, but i'm mad that they keep running it into the ground.
The After Years is fine if you're a REALLY. BIG. FAN. of the series.
Donk
New chapter prevents me from ignoring this. Fuck.

I'm about as big a fan of FFIV as you will meet, and The After Years still wasn't very great.

The Interlude begins in Damcyan where Edward has rebuilt his castle and the entire crew is back together to celebrate, and something is lingering in people's minds.
In addition to The Interlude, The After Years portion of the game will also have additional challenge dungeons and stories not found in the WiiWare version. The original Final Fantasy IV is a remake of the original Super Famicom version, so the difficulty is harder than the US version of Final Fantasy IV (the US version has toned down difficulty).

Funfact: Final Fantasy IV has the best overworld theme of any JRPG.
