The demo for this is up on Japanese PSN, and if you can get into a low-lag match, it is a riot. Exceeding my already pretty high expectations for sure. A good set of core player actions for a game of its style, huge arenas with a ton to do in them, cool items (guns and shit), crazy random events (the game will, say, throw big AI enemies into matches), even a solid-looking campaign mode. I really can't wait for this.

It's rougher than I expected. The camera is real bad, and the lock-on works when it feels like it, and sometimes that means locking to an enemy off screen. Multiplayer is really, really, really dependent on your teammates. I kept getting paired with guys who would run at the enemy and die, so there was no hope of me doing much of anything. Facing just two enemies is more than you can really deal with. Though there are probably controls I'm missing since they're all in Japanese.

This is confirmed as region free for 360.

This is the first game I can think of in a really long time that is coming out in Japan pretty far ahead (6+ months) of a US release that I'd want to have.

They don't normally do that anymore, but Sega has apparently been back and forth about bringing it to the US at all.

I was playing the demo on 360 this morning, and I don't think I understand the controls. There's a tutorial, but it's in Japanese. I will look for an FAQ.
Electronic cigarette.
The tutorial gives you icons of the buttons you need to press, the only ones you really need to figure out on your own are the two about air attacks (namely, the first is to jump in the air and press Y near the apex while the second is to jump and immediately press Y).
It can take a bit to full understand how everything works and the single-player doesn't really get the job done either. I had to hop into some multiplayer games to begin realizing how everything comes together. Maybe I'll download the 360 demo as well and see I can get some better connections, I had some good matches but the lag really killed other ones for me.
