Arnold is back.

I've met him a couple of times, mainly at little VIP meet and greet events at the Arnold Classic in Ohio over the years. The highlight was getting to ask him two questions at a Q&A session, and he spent probably close to 10 minutes answering them. It came across like he really wanted to make sure he answered my questions to the best of his ability (one question was about training, one was about if the documentary about his 1980 Mr. Olympia win was ever coming out on DVD). It was pretty fucking awesome and inspirational.

And yes, I have pics with him and the Q&A is on video. I'll have to throw that shit on YouTube sometime.

Did you try to ask him the questions in broken German, like that nerd who tried to ask Miyamoto a question in Japanese?

lol, no. But one nerd in the audience (who, amusingly enough, looked like a clone of TNL's very own Jeremy) introduced himself as "Sherman, AKA The Sherminator," and proceeded to tell Arnold all about how he visited his home town in Austria, his boyhood home, his old school, the lake he used to hang out at, etc. Arnold finally had to cut him off 'cause he just went on and on and on.

Holy shit, The Last Stand was great. Arnold's acting was actually quite passable (especially compared to Expendables 2, where I thought he was pretty bad), and the movie effectively conveyed his age while still allowing him to kick ass in a totally believable way. His supporting cast was good too, the pacing was tight, and the action was pretty brutal at times. The direction was excellent, also. A very enjoyable comeback for the Austrian Oak...it was a good overall action movie, not just a good Arnold movie. But it was also a bit depressing, as you can tell he really only has a couple of years left in the tank as far as making movies goes.

BTW, the scene from the red band trailer where the Vette grinded the rail on the bridge like a fucking skateboard wasn't in the movie, thankfully. That shot looked super-gay.
