I'm playing this on PC right now. It's great. The animation is really charming, and all the designs/backgrounds, while being cliche, are quite enjoyable. Even the writing is above par despite the story being ignorable. I wish your army was a bit more customizable, or that there were more units, or...really, just more content in general. Not that there's a lack currently, because it's totally solid as a DL title, but it turned out so well you wonder what they could have done with a full retail budget.

Moot, I know, since the game wouldn't have been designed the same with that mindset, but you can daydream.

It doesn't seem like there's any real incentive to replay the campaign (haven't quite finished yet), so it looks like it's multiplayer or nothing for extended play, but an upside-down castle scenario would be pretty great.

I love, love, love this game. Bought it on DS and XBLA. I would buy it on PC, too, for the better load times, but I just don't feel like going through the (enjoyable) campaign a third time just to unlock everything needed for MP. Maybe if there were a cheat that would do that for me, I would pick it up.

I noticed on XBLA that there are some new achievements, now that some of the villains are playable. Don't know if that's DLC or free new content, but I'm interested to check it out.

MP, by the way, is so good. Co-op is the shit. There are some abusive combos with Undead (Black Knight + spider ring = groan), but there's a lot of depth to the metagame. My favorite combo is to play dual Academy with all mages plus the item that lets you fuse Mages of different colors with each other. Good times.

I don't think I would enjoy playing this game on the TV. It just seems like a good fit for portable gaming.
