Yeah, I called it one of the best on rails shooters of all time. Is that a problem?

While that makes sense based on rifle scopes and what not, I didn't have any problem with it in games like Bioshock 2, for example. It's similar to being able to see the HUD that often jumps out of the screen in 3D and the action behind it. It's not really an issue, and I would think it would be even less of an issue with a smaller screen.
Well it's different in a game where a very small reticule is marking the middle of the screen and a game where you're moving around a cursor on screen over all different depths of things. In an FPS it's more of a reference point, it's not something you actively track with your eye, so you're not really forced to focus directly on the reticule as much as a game like Panzer Dragoon or Sin and Punishment. Maybe for sniping you are, and that can be a bit straining, but it's not as big a deal.
Also, size of the screen doesn't matter as much as apparent "depth". Although the size of the screen does limit that a little I suppose, which is why 3DS games have a bit of a "diorama" feel to them.

When I said "Panzer Dragoon" I was referring to the comment that Star Fox or Sin and Punishment might be the best on-rails 3D shooter.

The bottom line is that I'd like to see both a S&P and a Panzer Dragoon on the 3DS so we can find out. I wouldn't say no to any good rails shooter or racing game frankly.
You know how when you have the 3D cranked all the way up in Pilotwings, your plane/character is in permanent double vision, like when you hold an object really close to your eyes? I don't want Star Fox to be like that.

That never happened to me in Pilotwings. The slider is there so that you can adjust to your eye placement and preference. It's not the same for everyone.
I like FULL INTENSITY.

No matter how I set the slider, the mountains in the distance appeared to be about 4 inches behind the screen, which is kind of shitty. This is the problem with having the distance between your eyes be only slightly smaller than the screen.
