These games are pretty solid, but I don't feel compelled to buy them since there are now so many. The idea of the trilogy had me buying 1 and 2, but I really want nothing to do with all the subsequent games and kind of hate the series because of it. Such a shame, the original trilogy idea was fantastic.

Read a summary of the last ten minutes of Brotherhood and then grab Revelations. It's a refinement of the concepts in Brotherhood giving it that leap forward over AC2 but doesn't feel like a dragged-out cash grab like Brotherhood did. Staying away from the portable games is also a great choice.

That's.. really fucking weird. I'm super excited for that game, but that's not really that exciting. What is Ubisoft doing? They're really trying this weird cross promotional shit.
