How many of you use IE with no blocker add-ins and Bing and have a Windows phone? Because I do none of the above and don't use Chrome or an Android device either.

C'mon man. What's the nefarious thing MS is doing w/the data that says 40% of users stream movies between the hrs of 6-9p PST, that 16% of users use Kinect to change inputs, and that I read The Atlantic, watch Daily Show, am in the market for a family car, and shop at Costco?

XBL is a tremendous service, IMO, and part of that is attributable to monitoring user habits. Moar plz.

Yeah, it's the same thing grocery stores and drug stores have been doing for years with their discount cards. I can't say that knowing what those are really for has ever stopped me from using them.

They are all sales based. People with the cards spend more per stop than those without.

That's because most people don't realize that you don't have to buy ten cans of soup, or spaghetti or whatever to get the discount. You can just buy the one.
