Replacements are like, cheap chinese junk and not worth the $8. :/
I know because I had the bright idea of buying a bunch and replacing the sticks in the buckets of bad controllers I have. They feel and play awful.

The originals didn't wabble from day one.
I still have my smoke n64 from near the time it launched. It's still is tight as ever.
I discovered that if you don't use it, it doesn't wear out. The same strategy has kept my Resident Evil Red 360 going all these years when most others have red ringed.
