E3 2011: Wishes, Expectations, Surprises, and Disappointments

When I play games on my iPhone my fingers sometimes touch the back of the phone. How will the Vita not get annoying as I inadvertently activate commands? Not that I'm buying a Vita at all, I'm just wondering. Some of the functionality of the Vita is neat. Definitely grabbed my attention.

You guys are missing the point with this PS Vita thing.

The question is not, "how well does it compare to the 3DS?" but "how well does it compare to the iPhone?"

That is the question the dedicated gaming system must answer this generation.

What is the PSV's answer to the App Store? What will it do to convince me to make extra pocket space that is already being occupied by iOS devices?

The 3DS has StreetPass -- a very cool and underrated idea with a lot of potential -- and a promising app store that might at least be able to compete with Apple. How will Sony compete?

Well I said "it's hard to say there's no reason to buy it." Which you seemed to interpret as "There's no reason not to buy it." So I wouldn't get all high and mighty about the reading comprehension thing.

TBH, unless the 3G is free like the Kindle, I would never even consider getting the 3G version of this anyway, regardless of the carrier. I barely use the 3G on my phone outside of GPS/Google Maps.

Well... most games are pretty bad, dude.

Looking at my current collection the ones that stick out are Portal 2, MvC3, Deathsmiles, Resistance 2, Ico, a couple iphone games, and Shadow of the Colossus.

Like, I bought and played Crysis 2, Gears 2, MW2, Bayonetta, etc and I thought they were all pretty terrible. A game needs to offer me something different to really grab my attention and make me remember it. It makes me sound like a snob, and I suppose I am one... but I just expect my entertainment to be awesome. It's the same way most TV/movies are complete shit. There's some great stuff out there, but it's drowning in a sea of piss.

I have a top of the line PC, and I bought Crysis 2, and I barely played it. On the other hand, I've sunk 10+ hours into Dungeon Raid. Crysis 2 isn't "bad" per se, but it just doesn't offer enough new and awesome stuff to hold my attention.

I'm excited about PSV's tech, but I'm waiting to see how it will entice me away from iOS.

3DS having 3D doesn't really mean anything. It's a useless, headache-inducing gimmick.

People naturally see in 3d. And now you don't need glasses. It is less of a useless gimmick than color graphics.

Are you trying to imply that 3D isn't a gimmick? You sound like a child with your "Sony is doing it too" comment. The last time I checked we were taking about the Vita which has zero to do with 3D. Your comment makes you look much more interested in making this Nintendo vs Sony instead of 3DS vs Vita.
