I still don't own one, but there are enough new good-looking games for a demo reel. The Last Story, Xenoblade, Pandora's Tower, Zelda, Earth Seekers, and still no word on Dragon Quest X. The Wii's a lot more interesting to me than, say, an Xbox 360, but I wouldn't claim to be in sync with "the public."
Here's some info on the CPU http://www.engadget.com/2011/06/07/i...intendo-wii-u/ which really all it tells us is that its a Power7 based CPU (very good thing) and that it has "a lot" of embedded dram (which is also a very good thing). It should be a pretty good step up from PS360. Now we just need to get AMD to talk and confirm if its a modded RV700 in there. If it is you're looking at quite a step up from PS360 and probably where Sony and MS are going to be shooting for next gen as well.
I don't like the name at all. I think its fucking stupid. I'm also not sold on the controller. I really have no idea what to think of it until I get a chance to try it. I also think it was pretty fucking stupid how they showed it all. They said they wanted to focus on the controller after the conference, they should have still made it clear it was a new console using a new controller.
Power7+RV700, depending on where in the RV700 family, should be powerful enough to run anything on 360 or PS3 in 1080p at 60fps. It's not a trivial boost in power.
