VF doesn't make money in Japan even. Sega has internally tested an XBLA/PSN version but it hasn't received the green light because they don't think it's worth the cost to go to market.

Sega is transforming themselves ever so slowly to deal with the transition in the industry. Many of Japan's developers are in the same boat. You want to know why Kojima didn't come to E3? Konami just had a massive dev shift. They moved most of their teams (700 people) into social gaming, very few people left in traditional development and they will not gamble on any new IPs, just rehash old stuff.

+ New Layton and Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor 2 for DS
-Nada for third party 3DS games or a decent looking racer
-NOA's Wii line-up excludes Xenoblade, Last Story, or Pandora's Tower

Some one said Xenoblade was in some release list with no date though. Take that with a grain of Salt.

Makes sense from a business standpoint - less risk. And the Japanese market doesn't seem THAT concerned with rich, in-depth heavy media experiences as much as the west is. Unfortunate to see such a powerhouse like Konami lose steam. But such is the way of the open market, I suppose. Evolve or be Sega v.2.
