Thread: Requiem: Avenging Angel

    Requiem: Avenging Angel

I think this game has at least 3 fans worldwide.

I loved Cyclone's Requiem: Avenging Angel. Take a standard Quake 2-style FPS game, mix in some spell-casting, and that's basically what this game is.

My favorite part of the game is using the resurrect spell to create an army of followers.

  2. And I'm one of those three.

My favorite thing was definitely the timestop spell. Max Payne effect way before Max Payne even exist. I even used a cheat code my second play through so I could use the effect all the time.

I think the lack of multiplayer and lack of developer support for adding to the game pretty much killed it. It just plain needed more to do, and also to get rid of those annoying surprise boss levels.

  3. I'd like to be one of those. Hard as hell to find in my area, I really wanted to pick up this game because it sounded so good (Pillar of Salt!). Can't even play the demo thanks to it not recognizing later versions of DirectX or some such nonsense, so it always thinks I don't have it.

I had the same DirectX problem when I played through the game a second time. I don't remember what I did exactly but I just kept trying and it eventually worked on the newer version of DirectX.

  5. I really liked this game too - great guns, the slow-motion effect was awesome, and I liked turning people into pillars of salt.

Blood boil is also good wholesome family fun.

  7. Ah Requiem and it's "portal technology". I tried to play the demo from PC Gamer awhile back but it was glitched so it would destroy itself during installation...Ah well.

Hey guys, while we're at it, do any of you remember 3D Realms "Quake killer" Prey(Pray?) that never surfaced. I remember looking foward to this game, what with Duke Nukem 3D being big at the time and 3D Realm's almost John Romero quality boasting.Plus the screenshots looked nice too. Last I heard this game was shelved but not actually cancelled....

Man, I totally forgot about Prey. Actually, I forgot about 3d Realms and Duke Nukem Forever too.

Prey looked pretty cool from the pics they showed at E3 '98.

  9. great game... i basically got it for free (bought it for 30 bucks at a computer show, it had a 40 dollar rebate)... lots of fun... but the fact that the enemies warped in was a total bitch...

the powers were pretty damned cool too... and so were the weapons

  10. Well, Add me to the list of fans Pretty cool game, cool character( I mean, how many games have as angel with kick ass powers? ), cool guns and spells.

I also got the rebate form with the game, but never got my money back, since they never send them. Fuckers !
