But you're right. I don't really understand the push for it. I mean, I get that they are trying to shape a more positive image for women in american entertainment. But isn't it a little back handed when they all end up with stupid husbands and stupid sons? What does that say exactly? "I went to college, got educated, but at the end of the day I'm still a stupid idiot"?

Usually women (moms) seem to be the more strict characters in tv shows, often playing the "straight man" kind of character. The men/dads are usually the ones aiding kids in their wacky antics, making them appear more silly. I haven't seen any recent Disney tv shows so I'm not sure if this is still the case though :P

It's getting worse too, the shit my sister watches is way worse than the shit I watched as a kid. Crazy channels on TV that allow me to randomly find the stuff I did watch as a kid keep that opinion objective.
