Thread: Street Fighter III: Third Strike: Online Edition

  1. I was using Hugo last night to piss some people off in ranked, played against a level 13 Ryu who I'm pretty sure punched a hole in his wall after I raped him with my butt.

  2. So, I got the WWE stick. The buttons are great, but I haven't dialed in the square gate yet. My matches are definately going better with much easier access to my normals, but I lost my hit confirms into supers. Is it just a matter of learning a square gate, or should I look into buying a new gate and modding it?

    Off to practice mode.
Wow... a bunch of combos with the stun gauge sent to maximum. Wow.

Perhaps the problem lies in your execution, and not the gate?

  5. A gate is going to make good into better, it isn't gonna make bad into good. Squah gate is good for everything if you keep your movements precise and don't try to ride the edge, octo/round gates just let you ride the edge harder. Doesn't help if you don't know wtf you're trying to point at in the first place though.

just practice, do like ten minutes of fireballs and shoryukens a day in training modes in your fighting games for a few weeks and eventually you'll get it all figured out

  7. Full circle gate to ride the edge of glory, imo.

One of the things I don't like about square gates is that if my execution's off on something I'm never sure where exactly that's happening (like if I'm accidently sliding too much into down/back when I just want down), but I can just ram the stick into an octo notch and always know exactly where I am.

But that's the thing. I could hit confirm into a super easily on the stock PS3 d-pad. I lost it on the move to the stick.

Seems the simple answer to my question is to hook up the ol' DC and see how I do with my Agetec stick. I'm sure the gate is not square on that one.

So it's the stick's fault, and not your fault because you're used to a pad and not a stick?

You're right. You should probably spend some more money on something.
