I'm not sure I understand what was wrong with the Wii one. It's the best first party game on the system outside of the Galaxies.

I just think the games work better on a small scale, personally. The Wii one tried to do too much shit, didn't do it for me.

Local Multiplayer on the DS game was the best in the series, IMO.

I hated the stunt system in the Wii game, and most of the new maps/items sucked.

DS Mario Kart wins for being pure racing on good tracks with minimal item spam.

More fun on the console karts for me, but I also play a lot of local co-op and multiplayer.

Trick system was fun and the cycles were a neat enough change up, even if I still prefer kars.

Or they're playing by SMB side-scroller rules (including NSMB), where Mario & crew can breathe underwater forever.

I remember the SNES being one where staying in 1st wasn't a crap shoot as long as you had maximum coins. Once I was in 1st, I stayed there.

N64 was definition of rubber band AI. I hated that game. I just assumed the Wii game would follow suit?
