No matter what the game offers, the overwhelming indignation in the gaming community over a company having the balls to offer a game at such a price wold drown it. People still argue over $5 a month for Live. Passing something over isn't enough for people, they have to hate it and do what they can to make others hate it too.

If it were just one game, then yeah, it wouldn't go over so well, but an entire separate service for playing all games might be viable.

The problem with a $100/month (or even something more sane and still expensive enough to keep the kiddies out like $30/month) game is that it would have to be the best goddamn multiplayer game on the planet to justify such a price. And I'm afraid that distinction is already taken by the subject of this thread.
