Thread: Doctor Lautrec and the Forgotten Knights (3DS)

  1. Inexcusable. Not sure we needed as many as we got, and so quickly, but the first Layton is definitely worth finishing. For Flora if nothing else.

  2. If you are playing the games for the puzzles you should play all 3 because they are all the same. 1 and 3 are excellent in the story department with 1 slightly edging out part 3. They both capture the charm of the characters and their story very well. Part 2 was easily the weakest of the 3. It wasn't horrible, it was just nowhere near the quality of the other 2. I personally look forward to every new Layton release and Lautrec looks to be added to that list. It does look a bit more action heavy which is a good thing.

  3. I expected it be a 2012 title, but it now has a September 1 placeholder at GameStop, so hopefully that means it'll make this year, well ahead of the 3DS Layton.
Apparently it's out in Japan next week. September 1st seems logical.

Finch is clearly a WWII war criminal posing as a harmless f-chan.

  6. This game looks so good. It now appears to have an Oct 25th release.

Yeah, that's a really poor month to come out if they wanted me to pay full price. It's up against Rage, King of Fighters XIII, House of the Dead: Overkill - Extended Cut, Arkham City, Aliens Infestation, and quite possibly the new iPhone. Of course, November isn't much better. Maybe I'll ask for it for Christmas or grab it for $20 in January. The window of slow releases is closing.

  8. All those games and unnecessary extra phones are uninteresting except for Aliens Infestation, and that's only because it's a WayForward game. You should ignore them and get Doctor Lautrec adventures instead.

Yeah, that's not going to happen. I'll have Devil Survivor Overclocked and Star Fox before then, hopefully in some kind of a B1G1 50% off scenario, so the platform won't be suffering for games anymore.
