You are quite right. Using that safe spot on the left makes the section a breeze. There is only one ninja you have to know to dodge in order to get there. Thanks.Originally posted by bbobb
Oh and if I remember correctly there was like a little safe spot on the left hand side, that you could fall down forever without getting hit. So practice alot and keep close to the left wall.
So, finally beat it. The last boss was a pushover. Wish the ending text didn't go by too fast to read. Oh well. Back at the main menu. Hmm, what does PC-Engine mode mean, anyway? *pushes button* It says Arcade mode now. Let's give it a try...
Damn, Arcade mode is the TRUE Ninja Spirit, and the difficulty finally proves that this is an Irem game. One hit, you're dead. If not for the unlimited continues I would not have seen past the third level. I kind of think the game is TOO hard in Arcade mode, but I'm fairly sure someone with skillz could prove me wrong.
I think this game would be a lot better if you could switch between weapons seamlessly... kind of like how every weapon had its own button in Thunder Force V. That would allow you to use the non-sword weapons much more. As it is, you need to keep the sword out to block projectiles, and it's just too annoying to switch rapidly between the sword and a more "fun" weapon.
There's a difference? Thank God! I was playing the arcade version (a little MAME action going on), and while I though the game was great fun overall, a couple of those levels were insane! A few hits here and there are almost impossible to avoid, and since it's only one hit and back to a continue area, I was stuck on the third level for about twenty minutes in the same damn place. Which was pissing me off even more, because after a bit of practice I could make through the first two levels without getting hit once.Originally posted by BenT

But now that I hear there's a lifebar (I'm assuming?), I'll have to try and find an actual copy. And a system to run it on.
