Thread: I missed the mantarok alignment rune.. anything?

  1. I missed the mantarok alignment rune.. anything?

Yeah so i missed the mantarok alignment rune. How the hell was I supposed to make sense of "there is a passage big enough for a mut to fit through" means send a trapper through. I'm about 5 chapters past that now, is there anything I can do?

Also, i thought this game was supposed to have 20 hours of gameplay. At the rate I'm going I will be done at most 14- is this the kind of time you guys are getting?

  2. You have to use the Soul Eater in the cave of antiquity, allowing you to go back in time and witness Ted being granted the rune from his grandfather. Once you meet up with him, tell him to travel the world and never tell anyone about the Soul Eater, so as not to let Windy and Yuber catch him. Once this is done, you can return to the caves behind Qlon Temple, and Viktor will claim the Star Dragon sword.

If I had any idea what game you were talking about, I could help you more.

  3. that shit was comedy! i thought you were serious until half way through. the game is eternal darkness- i thought anyone who played the game through would recognize "mantarok".

  5. The mantarok rune isn't essential to beating the game, it's just a little extra thing that has some interesting effects.

And yeah, it took me 14 hrs the first time through. The second and third times only took 5-6 hrs.

Heh, good - I was worried you'd just feel insulted. Whenever I hear the word "rune" I can't help but think of Suikoden. One day I'll pick up ED.

  7. There's no way to go back and get it, you only get one shot. It's not that great, but it's pretty cool. Check the official thread for ED info.

I also got 14 hours of gameplay my first time through (my in-game clock said 12 hours and some change), so don't feel bad. Of course, I didn't read the reviews beforehand, so I had no clue what their time expectations were.

Yeah, like making the game even easier than it already is Seriously though, once you get Mantorok, you've pretty much finished the game, because nothing can freaking stop you. You can literally just cast Mantorok Reveal Invisible and Mantorok Shield, and you're set.
If my memory of her has an expiration date, let it be 10,000 years.

    true dat

  10. If you want to make ED more unbalanced than it already is, by all means, try out the Mantorok rune.

It turns ED from "easy" into "cakewalk."

But the eye candy's sure purty!
