I was hoping the screens with all the government leaders would have at least one dude shrouded in darkness.
I wanted the bulldog to be a penguin.

Holy shit. This was amazing. AMAZING. I loved every second of it.
watched it. Thought it was a great robot and/or super monster movie.
Not getting all the nerds that say that it takes from EVA. It borrows a lot more from Getter Robo, Godzillaesk films, or super robot anime than it does from EVA. Anything that it has in common with EVA, EVA got from an older show.
I think people are saying eva, strictly because thats probably all they know. they probably have never seen a lot of godzilla, or any other kaiju movies. i got a massive godzilla vibe from it. especially when that one kaiju comes out of the water into land. the music just get loud and deep and very godzilla.I liked all the character building, i would have liked more fights because they were all so damn awesome. Ill take a voltron movie now :P
I'll take another pacific rim movie. Like maybe we calonize space and find the aliens and they now want revenge.
I think movies like this benefit from NOT buying the movie IP rights and doing their own thing while paying homage. If it had been an actual Ultraman vs Godzilla movie, or power ranger movie, or voltron movie, you wouldn't be able to enjoy it. You'd be looking for the fuck ups. Or they'd just hit you and take you out of the movie.
With a new IP, you don't do that. You take it as it is.
Fe26 is supposed to be new IP, but we still have to take it as it is as well.
calonize, really?
I feel like this was more Independence Day than it was Evangelion or any other anime. The writing and characters were incredibly bad, some of them to the point of being uncomfortable to watch (the awkward Nutty Professor scientist being the worst of all).
It's fun to watch robots stomp around on a big screen in 3D, but as a movie this was pretty fucking bad. Similar to Independence Day; fun in theaters, but you'll never enjoy it a second time.
