All the Kaiju looked like they had ritualistic markings on them, this went without comment in the movie.

Honestly I think that was the most glaring problem I saw in any of the fights, it was just so blatantly ineffective.

My only other minor quibble was that the Rocket Punch didn't really seem much more powerful than a regular punch. That thing should have straight-up decapped the Gorilla Kaiju.

Agreed. I feel there were at least three instances where I was expecting a kaiju head to be ripped off or de-jawed.

i think that if it was any cat 1-3, yeah, that rocket punch would have wrecked shop. as it was, both leatherback and raiju were teh biggest cat4s they fought. both in size and weight, and i'd assume toughness. leatherback was fucking destroying shit. Also stryker was the one that lifted raiju up, not gypsi, and they threw it to give them room for the CHEST MISSLES, which leatherback interrupted with his little em pulse.that close range the missles would have done some good damage to stryker as well as raiju.
I was hoping that when gypsy went to "check for a pulse", they were going to curb stomp his ass, and not just destroy its heart. i was dissapointed by that only.

I just saw it again, and it was just as fucking rad the second time as it was the first. This is seriously my favorite movie in quite some time...it's right up there with awesome modern shit like The Raid and District 9.
Just watched it.
It was hella fun.
But calling this movie "original" is hilarious.
