Wireless sticks probably have sub-frame lag, but a monitor with sub-frame lag and a stick with sub-frame lag might not have sub-frame lag when used together. Throw the game itself into the mix (PS3 SF4), too.

Yeah, that's pretty solid. I know I certainly noticed a gigantic difference in old wireless controllers compared to this generation's, but never technically measured them or anything.

But I'm still wondering: what kind of standards are third-party controllers held to and do they measure up?

It doesn't matter anyway. This theoretical mobile-console hybrid could support USB inputs as well as Bluetooth, like every other console.
