Thread: Silent Bomber owns me.

  1. Silent Bomber owns me.

Or, rather, I own Silent Bomber, as of a handful of hours ago. I spotted it on the used game shelves of Funcoland, perfect and complete, for $15. A few weeks ago I posted a thread asking for twitchy action game recommendations...this title, Silent Bomber, was mentioned quite often with hearty praise.

I've been keeping an eye out for it ever since, and today my vigilance paid off. It's an absolute blast to play - I've only gotten through the first two levels, but I'm very impressed. I need to come to this board more often for obscure recommendations. Thank you, kind sirs, for pointing me the way to Silent Bomber.

I also picked up Virtua Racing for Genesis and an S-Type XBox controller. Now, time to get drunk and play some games.

  2. Pretty nice isn't it?

Shame Silent Bomber never got much exposure, every person I've introduced to it has come away impressed. A great art style too. *-neo

  3. Most definitely one of the best PSX action games I've played.
Fun game with great presentation... Gets quite difficult later on as well.
if ya see a sucker, cut him, don’t like perpetrators

  4. I, too, picked up Silent Bomber last week. It really is a blast to play. Right now I think I'm at level 8 or 9 and it is starting to get harder. Another nice thing about this game is the fact that there is a boss on each level. I like that Because I'm always trying my best in the levels so I have enough health to defeat the boss. The E-Unit customization is nice as well. It allows you to choose how you want to play, all out bombing or a little more conservative. Great game, but some of the voice acting is pretty lame

    Jutah out!

  5. Silent Bomber is a game I've been looking for for ages.

Lucky bastards finding it on a Funco shelf

  6. I really don't see what all the fuss is about. I've had it for awhile and it doesn't seem particularly special. I can agree on the voice acting, though.

Now, time to get drunk and play some games.
Now that's a damn good way to spend the holiday.

    (Seriously. :)

  7. Definetley one of my top 5 PSX games of all time. 15 buck is a freakin steal. I picked it up for 40 at Sony Metreon after i saw a huge crowd watching some dude playing it at one of the kiosks.

one of the only PSX games that truly reminds me of NES action games.

Watch out for the voice overs

Great control, good clean graphics, great pyrotechnics, fast gameplay, diverse levels and misssions, the E-unit set up and well concieved weapon system.

I'm confused for you too *-neo

  9. Hehe I read some Gamefaqs review on Silent Bomber and the guy said something like "The music is not all that good. It would get a low score if it were not for the awesome voice acting. That makes the Sound a 9. The voice overs rocked!"
