i'd also mention Alex Smith in the rookie QB class, because this is clearly not the same fellow. Obviously they signed another Alex Smith straight out of college undrafted.

Please, every first round draft pick is treated as the most coveted. And other than Mario Williams, who shocked people when he was picked, they've all been busts. Luck might be good, or he might be average; but either way let's not get our panties in a twist over it.

And whether Luck lives up to the hype is not the point-- the value comes in what people will pay, and they'll be paying quite a bit for the 1st pick this year. I'd rather dish the pick, even though it seems likely that Luck will sit behind Peyton.
