Thread: 2011 NFL Season

I certainly hope you are right, but their "GM" has given them shitty QBs too. I'm not counting on Shanahan ruining someone with actual talent. Hopefully Snyder's dumb ass fires Shanahan.

The Redskins have had a turnstile at QB going on 2 decades. They'll ruin any QB they draft.

I think this regime gets it and so does Snyder. Rome wasn't built in a day and great NFL franchises aren't built in two years. Knee-jerk reactions and firings are what has lead the Redskins to become a joke of a franchise. Not counting their first offseason since they inherited a pile of shit, the new regime has done a lot after one full offseason. While a lot of work still needs to be done with their offense, they revamped the hell out of the defense - and they're not done yet.

I don't think Shanahan has necessarily lost his eye for talent (Jay Cutler, Elvis Dumervil, Brandon Marhall - all current players drafted by Shanahan shortly before he was fired). Since the new regime has been given control, the roster has gotten younger and while they're still raw, there is talent. See: Twilliams, Priley, Kerrigan, Jenkins, Hankerson, Helu. Also, don't forget the free agent additions Carriker, Chester, Cofield, Atogwe, Bowen, Wilson. Give a front office the time to make prudent off-season acquisitions and draft the right players, and their team will succeed. It's been proven. Just look at the Steelers, Packers, Eagles, Giants, and dare I say, Cowboys. Hell, even the Lions are a good example of what time, patience, and good drafting will bring you.

And please keep bringing up the QB position, as everyone and the media just doesn't get it. Shanahan wasn't about to throw his QBs under the bus at the beginning of this season, especially when he (and everyone else in the league) knows that his QB of the future will likely be in this year's draft. I highly doubt that Garrett, or any other NFL head coach who was in the same position, would talk bad about his QB or proclaim his lack of faith in their ability to run the offense. He's got to walk a tight rope between backing his players up, while also facing the cold, hard truth: their current QB will not take them to the promised land.

Call me crazy, but I think Snyder is following in the footsteps of an older Steinbrenner by shutting up and letting the footbal people make the football decisions.

  3. Broncos finally cut Kyle Orton.

Time for the neckbeard to return to Chicago?

Shanahan didn't throw McNabb under the bus, he drove the bus over McNabb!

McNabb was always average. When his receivers were taken away, he became awful. Shanahan didn't cause it. T.O. was right.

His agent asked that he be cut. Denver is still fucking retarded.

I love that Dallas was ready to cock block Chicago from getting him, but he went to KC, where he can pay back Denver, which is even more awesome.

  7. Why the fuck is the Ravens/49ers game on NFL network? Fucking bullshit.

    I hate that fucking thing.

  9. Lions season looks to be done.

LOL two picks in a row. Stafford is a fucking joke.

EDIT: Oops my mistake, second one was a strip.

    Whatever...point still stands.

I hope Suh is suspended next week as well. Defenses should be able to play defense, and the Vanden Bosch call was bullshit, but so is stomping a guy on the ground.
