I have not watched one movie (except MAYBE Avatar) where I thought 3D improved the experience one fucking bit. However, I have seen plenty movies ruined by poorly implemented, barely-there 3D effects tacked on at the last second during post-production. A perfect example is the Clash of the Titans remake (which was a shitty movie to begin with, 3D or not).
Fuck 3D.

Oh, and James Cameron is converting Titanic to 3D for a theatrical re-release. The man who made Terminator and Aliens is dead to me.

Avatar sold me on 3D and Clash of the Titans crushed it by being worthless.

I saw captain america in 3-D..there was pretty much only one or two parts I actually noticed being 3-D. It didn't look bad, but it wasn't worth paying extra for either, and I don't think there was really enough action in the movie as a whole to really justify even making it 3-D...In any case, I generally avoid 3-D movies because they usually give me a headache with the effects.

I wish more people would realize this. The Cameron who made Terminator and Aliens is not the Cameron of today. Just like the Lucas who made American Graffiti and A New Hope is not the Lucas of today. I'm so sick of people defending anything Cameron says or does with "But dude he made Terminator and Aliens, come on."
but dude ... he made Terminator and Aliens.
I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me.
I watched Piranha 3D with the kids last night.
It was neat.
I've watched just about every action movie they've released in 3D since Avatar (but not including Avatar, because fuck that stupid movie). Not a single one made me say OMG THIS IS SO AWESOME!. But none of them made me say THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN BETTER HAD IT BEEN 2D.
As already pointed out, hollywood needs to recognize it's the shit movies that are the problem, not the technology. But then it seems that it's the shittiest movies that make the most money. SO I guess hollywood needs to recognize that its shit movies aren't shit enough.
