Are the puzzles like Layton random puzzles or are they all variations on a certain style?
There's probably already a thread for little games like these that I was horribly unable to find. but I figured I'd post this anyways. It's a little puzzle game I found on steam and then later found that they had made a second one (Drawn 2: Dark Flight) that isn't on steam for some reason, but I've just started playing that one too and so far it is not disappointing. The puzzles in the second one are even harder.
This trailer sucks and doesn't really show you the gameplay, but I didn't want to link the others because they were walk-throughs and that's no fun. Despite being able to skip any of the puzzles after a certain amount of time (if you wanted to be lame and skip your way through the game) you still have to find objects and correctly interact them with the environment to unlock new areas. The artwork is pretty nice too and the only complaint I have with the games is that they're too short, even if you don't skip the puzzles. I think the first one was about..4 or so hours long. Still not bad for a relaxing puzzle game to pick away at here and there.

ooo I never played that before..so I have no idea. They have a few different themes among the puzzles. Clicking different blocks to bring them all down to the same level, moving dials to unlock all of the bars, arranging pictures to find a pattern. Those are just a few examples I remember, I played the first game quite a while ago and have tried out many different puzzle games since then. But it was this one and a few other titles I've played that have really stuck out and been memorable.
Another one I played was The Dream Chronicles series. There's five games in the series so far and they all continue from the first like different chapters in a book. I've played 1-4 so far and that series is much harder than Drawn and has way more detailed artwork. In fact, I found the maps to be so serene and peaceful looking, I capped most of them and use them as desktops now.
I think they average around 4-6 hours long, maybe longer because the puzzles are much more intricate than Drawn. You also can't skip any of the puzzle in that game so if you get stuck, best get to googling lol
I've bought retail versions of both games (2 never came out at retail in the US but is available with 1 in a 2-pack in the UK) and cleared them. Really beautiful direction and very involving more difficult puzzles in the 2nd game. Puzzles are a mix of hidden object, object placement and standard adventuring stuff.
Eagerly awaiting the 3rd game!

Here's another I've played recently, this one seemed considerably shorter than the other two series I mentioned but it had one really awesome puzzle with mirrors that I enjoyed the hell out of playing lol
It's really hard to find puzzle games that aren't just hidden object like this. I hate these so much. So if you have any others to share like Drawn, etc I would greatly appreciate it. ;D
