Thread: What are your top 20 movies OF ALL TIME?

  1. Gotta think hard about this question...

I certainly don't think its the greatest movie ever made, its my favorite though. Lynch balances the sacrifice of a coherent plot and characters with his imagery and atmosphere, which obviously won't suit everyone, but i love it. I feel genuine anxiety when i watch the climax of the film. I think the Devils is probably the all round "best" movie on my list, but its much harder for me to get into a period piece about religion than a mystery set in hollywood.

Posting on a phone sux dix so i'll wait until i get home to respond to some of these lists.

That list is a piece of shit.
    Van Damme. Rodman. Rourke. Hark.

    Movie's damn near legendary.

  4. Van Damme. Lundgren. Orbach. Lister.

    Movie IS legendary!

  5. Jaws
    Fight Club
    Let Me In
    Hellraiser
    Aliens
    Heima
    Pan's Labyrinth
    Die Hard
    Tombstone
    Voices of a Distant Star
    The Thing
    Stand By Me
    The Cove
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
    Se7en
    Requiem For a Dream
    Grave of the Fireflies
    16 Horsepower Live
    Jacob's Ladder
    The Corporation
    Boo, Hiss.

  6. Jaws should have been on my list. But I don't know what I'd trade out for it.
I'm surprised (and relieved) that a certain series that has three installments (although no one likes the third) hasn't shown up yet in any of these lists. That is unless I missed it's mention.

  7. Leave the gun, take the cannoli.

There's some awesome movies I'm remembering that should belong on my list, but I've only watched 'em once. Good excuse to go back for 'em!

Have you seen 'Let the Right One In'? I enjoyed it quite a bit more than the remake.

  9. I have. I preferred the American one.

Both have their merits and I wouldn't begrudge anyone a difference of opinion on this.
    Boo, Hiss.

Doesn't matter, really. Opinions are subjective. For instance, you have Texas Chain Saw on your list. While I appreciate what the film did for the horror and low budget genres, I don't care for it. I prefer the second or the remake.

Also: Blair Witch is the one on the list that you want to validate? There are so many others on my list that most people would shoot me for having on there!
I'm not a devious man by nature... but when you're unarmed, your tactics might gonna be downright Archimedean.
