I would suggest looking at maybe an RTX 3050, or RTX 3060 from EVGA's B-Stock. They're not new, but they come with a warranty. And DLSS goes on long ways.

This RX 6700 is quite a deal at $300.

  2. Hey, gamevet...hate to bother ya again, but I'm about to pull the trigger on that Asus laptop you so thoughtfully recommended but I still have slight lingering feels about maybe possibly getting a desktop instead (even though a laptop might be more convenient for my purposes). What's your opinion on this Asus (which is the same price as the laptop)? I'm heavily leaning towards the laptop, but I'm just curious.

And so you don't have to go looking for the laptop link for comparison, here's that link:

    Thanks yet again!

I'll always pick a desktop over a laptop, but you have the added expense of buying a monitor for the desktop. A desktop will be much easier to upgrade parts, over a laptop, so that should be a huge consideration.

  4. Things to consider! Thanks buddy!

Welp cleaning went well. Install went well. I get power. But I have no video signal and I got 2 mobo lights lit up now. The annoying part. I tested it in one spot and I got a signal. Now I don't. Time to troubleshoot.

:EDIT: reseated memory And gpu. Everything seems to be working okay, i can feel warmth from the gpu somits drawing power.just the fan isn't on. I'm lost. Especially because it posted before and the only thing I did was turn it off and move it......

I'd suggest looking at the manual to see what the lit lights mean. It could be a memory issue, or a GPU issue.

You can also just reset your bios, should you have some setting that is preventing it from posting.

So I figured out the issue. It was vga and boot light. There was a power cable I didn't plug in. So it posts just fine, but my lame ass dont have a thumb drive for my bios(that's on the way) should be good today

  10. You're not the only one that has ever done that. I remember putting a new NVME drive and wondering why my screen wouldn't come up. It finally dawned on me that I didn't plug the power cable back in the graphics card.
