I generally look at this sort of thing for video cards:
http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/...ew,3107-7.html SLi is technically a good thing but you need to make sure your power supply can handle it, support is sporadic, and I feel the cost-to-benefit ratio is better by just getting a new card entirely. Of course, if you're looking at doing a 3+ monitor setup you're generally going to need it.
Upgrading to a good i7 will help a lot if you're noticing a lot of issues, and I would guess would probably be the first biggest bang for your buck.
