In fairness, sites like Megaupload will face due process. The extent to which this process is fair is debatable but yeah.

MegaUpload didn't face Due process before it was taken down, but I do have a sense for the reasoning, even if the DoJ just fucked the people who used it for legit purposes.

But there's always been sites that get taken down for user generated content, to be returned later without reasoning, but end up destroying the company because it's the exact same thing as shutting the doors down for a company and saying "They did something illegal" no one wants to go back.

I think these takedowns are retaliation against the SOPA & PIPA protests, just like Hans Gruber taking out one of his hostages to "teach the others a lesson". Good chance these fascists guessed that many of the protesters were users of MU and others. This is malice and a miscarriage of justice. By the Feds' screwball logic, sites like Google and Youtube should be gone also.

Who would I like to vote for as President in 2012? How about "None of the Above" unless Paul is the Repub challenger. Sadly a true "reject all candidates for this office" vote isn't allowed. We need a NOTA party with a candidate who would resign immediately if he were elected.

If Romney or Santorum get nominated, this November may be a bigger joke than the 2K Bush vs. Gore presidential election. Sometimes it's not a question of "who's the best candidate" but rather "who's the least bad".
