I think the biggest problem with combat is that the damage numbers are too big and random to properly strategise, other than make a shit at every toilet to throw at people and use all your pp up at the start. With Paper Mario the Hp and damage numbers are so low that it actually becomes a very strategic game because you know how much damage you can do and how much your going to take, also healing/items not taking a turn means it turns into a poting fest.
This game still rules btw.
