Thread: Under the Radar SNES/Genesis Games

Yeah, I'm at the crossroads now of either taking the toaster apart again this weekend and fussing with it again...or maybe buying a top loader...it depends on how lazy I am.

If I had the games working on the toaster before, then it should be an easy fix again. Maybe I just didn't put it back together well enough...

It's possible. First time I did it I didn't put the plastic tray on quite right. You may also want to scrub the motherboard part where you plug the 72 pin connector into.

If all else fails send it to me and I'll see if I can get it going. I can't promise i'd get it done quickly, though.

  3. I haven't messed around with the NES again yet, I'm going to give it one more shot tomorrow...

I did find a new video game store near my house though, and they had a crap load of NES, SNES, and Genesis games marked at $5 for $20...and they had some crappier games marked at $2 each.

I ended up walking out of the store spending $30 for a sealed copy of Double Dragon 3, and Mickey's Great Circus Mystery for the Genesis, as well as loose carts of X-Men Mutant Apocalypse for the SNES, Double Dragon for the Genesis, and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade for the Genesis. I'll probably end up going back there, because they had quite a few games I want to try out.

Double Dragon 3 turned out to be LOL BAD, but it's actually pretty fun for what it is. It's more fun than it has any right to be. Double Dragon 1 seems alright, but the controls really didn't seem much better than part 3 to me, and 3 was just way more ludicrous with the types of enemies you fight. So, I definitely like part 3 better.

Indiana Jones was one of the $2 games that I was like, "eh what the hell, I'll give it a shot." After about an hour, I ALMOST made it through the first level....yet I kept dying for one cheap reason or another. Indy hits his head on the ceiling, you lose hit points. Indy falls in water that is ankle deep, and you die. Enemies can shoot you about five times before you can whip them once. Sometimes they die with one hit, sometimes they take ten hits, with no rhyme or reason. This game ultimately pissed me off, more than it entertained me. Oddly enough, I wanted to keep trying though, as I did inch ever closer to beating that damn first level every time I tried...lol. Fuck this game.

I'm going to try Mickey's Great Circus Mystery and X-Men next.

  4. You had a sealed double dragon 3...and opened it?

hahah...is it a rare title or something? Perhaps I should go back and pick up the second sealed copy they had sitting there.

But yeah, so far the winner of the bunch seems to be Mickey's Great Circus Mystery....just more proof that Capcom rarely had a misstep in the 16 bit era, especially when it came to these Disney licensed title.

I'm going to wait til tomorrow to try out the X-Men game.

All those 16 bit X-Men games were hard as hell.

  8. I honestly have no idea but at this point opening a sealed Nes game no matter what the title just seems wrong to me.

Bah. A sealed game is shameful to me.

Oh yeah...don't worry, it was the Genesis version of Double Dragon III. I promise you, if it were the NES game, and it was SEALED, I'd definitely leave it sealed and put it right onto ebay
