Thread: Under the Radar SNES/Genesis Games

  1. The Firemen (SNES)
Quick zephyrs blow, vexing daft Jim.

  2. There's also the Ignition Factor, which is probably the best firefighting game to hit the U.S. Firefight FD 18 for the PS2 would be better if it didn't have annoying boss fires.

I always forget The Firemen never made it to the US. I think the PS sequel did though?

  4. genesis tmnt hyperstone is far superior to the snes version but if you remember the snes version came 5 month early

  5. Hyperston Heist is great, but if you have TIT (lol), you're better off playing that one. HH is a rehash of those levels and has weaker colors, scratchy voices, and none of the cool effects. That doesn't make it a bad game, and it's still the Turtles on your Genesis (unthinkable at the time), but the SNES game is definitely better.

  6. The best version is the one where you can THROW guys at the front of the screen.

Just checked out the youtube video for this, and the game looks pretty damn cool. Too bad it's a UK only release.

  9. My retro gaming saga continues...I've been pretty busy the last few weeks getting a game room set up in my new house, and the room is still a work in progress. I want to get all the systems hooked up, in a fashion where I wont have to ever unhook any of the systems in order to play another one. Before I get that finalized though, I was thinking of adding a few more systems to my gaming cabinet within the next few weeks. Right now, I have the NES, SNES, Wii, Genesis, Dreamcast, Gamecube, Saturn, Atari 2600, Turbo Grafx-16, Xbox 360, PS3, and the Nintendo 64 hooked up......

I'd like to add the following systems as soon as possible:

    1) Atari 7800

    2) Sega Master System

    3) PC Engine Duo

I don't know much about these systems though. Is there anything that I should be aware of, in regards to these systems, before I start scouring eBay for them? Like are there certain models of the systems I should avoid, or is there an ideal price range I should be looking at? Or, should I avoid any of these systems altogether? Any feedback you guys can give me on these systems, including game recommendations, would be great!

    1. I know nothing about the 7800, sorry.

    2. You want the original Master System or a Power Base Converter if you have an original model Genesis. The Master System 2 sucks, it's RF only and has no card support.

    3. Get a Duo R or RX, they are a bit more reliable. If you find a good regular Duo make sure it has had all its capacitors replaced.
