I took a break of several months between FF4 and the After Years, it makes the experience a bit better. It's just way too damn long otherwise.
Uncharted: Golden Abyss (PSV)
Pretty good game. Finished 1cc with kill screen.
Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective (DS)
I wasn't expecting so magical an experience. But that's what I got. They took the fun puzzle aspect of Zack & Wiki, turned the frustrating cheap deaths into an enjoyable do-over system, added some of the most engaging and memorable characters this side of Phoenix Wright (Missile is my new favorite video game doggie), laid it all out in an interesting story with some serious mind-fuck plot twists and emotional peaks, then boxed it and sold it to me on clearance. One of the best games on the DS, and one of the best games of the past few years. Holy shit.
Final Fantasy IV: The Complete Collection (PSP)
The After Years was more fun on WiiWare, when I didn't play it immediately after finishing one of the best RPGs ever made. Taken in this context, it just seems unnecessary and silly. Interlude is an on-rails story bridging the two, with two rehashed dungeons and a rehashed boss battle. As much as I love FFIV, I'm really done playing it for at least ten years. Seriously, it's enough. I would prefer that Squeenix focus on making an excellent new Final Fantasy. Since that hasn't happened since the PS1 era, I'm willing to settle for an updated FFVI. Or a rebooted FFVIII with a second half story that does the first half justice. Anything but more time with Cecil and friends. Please.
Me & My Katamari (PSP)
So this is how a Katamari game plays with face buttons instead of sticks. Not very well! And the map recycling gets really bad in the latter fourth or so. Nonetheless, it's still better than the travesty that launched with the Vita. In fact, I'd say it's better than any of the modern Katamaris.

I'm happy that someone else's eyes were open to the truth that Ghost Trick was retarded awesome.
Resident Evil Code Veronica X (PS2) -- I played through the Dreamcast version back when it came out. The new cut-scenes in this where Wesker goes all Matrix and does backflips and walljumps and shit are stupid. Steve is still a total dweeb (easily the worst RE hero ever), but even he can't bring this game down. It's real long for a RE game -- probably the longest aside from RE 0. There are tons of sweet boss fights and lots of unique environments. Great soundtrack. Definitely worth playing through again. But I think the Dreamcast version is probably still the best just like Metal Gear Solid on PS1 owns the Gamecube's Twin Snakes.

Driver: San Francisco - As usual I'll write about this one in the blog when the chance arises.
But in short I'll say this game is totally fucking sweet. Kinda wonder if people are still playing this online...probably not.
Awesome, yes. I keep forgetting that it's actually interesting and not boring Driver bullshit. Really need to give them my money.
3. Kirby's Epic Yarn (Wii) - pretty darn charming. A very nice change of pace from most other games that I play and you can add a tiny bit of challenge by unlocking the extra levels, getting golds, collecting all items etc. Took me 11+ hours to finish and I was pleasantly surprised by that (though I definitely did not rush through levels).
11) Puzzle Agent. I've had this for a while but never been in the mood. The other day I figured I'd power on through it, and I had a great time overall. Next up- Puzzle Agent 2, because I really hope they don't leave the story just hanging like that.

Just beat it again for fun with friends. We played it in 2006 when it originally came out and were getting floored left to right. Either we learned how to play the game this time around and are better gamers, at least where twitch gameplay is concerned, or we were just really dumb back then. We pretty much agreed its a decent amount of both factors. Game's great. A shame it was knocked down due to its IGN feedback, because it soars where gameplay is concerned. Even at not taking itself seriously and being ballsy enough to put some "edgy" stuff in games. Rainbow midget Power Rangers (a rip of Jakka Dengekitai - J.A.K.Q., someone at Clover must have been a fan) and other stuff. Moves and expressions taken from other games. Being able to do a Shoryuken. Buddha Palm Fist. Soundtrack titles coining other Capcom games (Devil may Sly). The combat is still superb. Tons of mocap. All of the money seems to have been put on Gene. He needs more than one game. I'm glad they made him look younger and ruled out his white hair in the concept art (see: up). Fits his goofy demeanor a lot more.

I need to get that, Godhand rules. Funny thing is I've bought it for other people, but not myself.
