The only thing i don't hate is Mario's drowning sequence. It's pretty amazing.
It came out at a time when i was losing interest in video games, so i thought maybe that was it. Everyone said it was amaaaaazing, but i never saw it. So i played it later on the Wii. No. Everything from the colors to the sound effects to stretching Mario's fat rubber face still sucks. Mario64 marked the change from Mario being a faceless but likable guy who went on adventures to being a pudgy happy piece of shit who wouldn'ta shuta the fuck up.
Sure, it helped pave the way for 3D games, but every road has shit pressed into it. If Bubsy the Bobcat didn't come along, this would be the Bubsy the Bobcat of 3D games. It's loud, ugly, obnoxious, and not fun at all.
