Chris, no idea how well this works: http://vt.beckament.net/

Not sure how you had a peripheral discussion without setting Mzo off on all the Nintendo ones that went nowhere (gb camera, gbplayer, link cable, card reader, etc). A lot of controller discussion, but still good show. Regarding Nintendo controllers, it was the basics they were the first with (dpad, analog, rumble). Although I'm sure someone can argue they were not first or copied something else on all points. On that topic, I think they were the first mainstream for shoulder buttons/trigger?

Also I'm pretty sure Samba would be horrible for Kinect, seeing as it requires not only a little precision, but a lot. As mentioned Steel Batallion would probably work since the mechs are so slow.

I'm not going to sit here and argue the individual merits of each Nintendo controller with you. Personally, I haven't owned a single Nintendo non-handheld console during its lifespan since 1987. But it's hard to dispute that their controller ideas have set standards for other console manufacturers.

Fuck "popularized." If they didn't invent them, then no one copied them. Is every GUI copied from Microsoft since they "popularized" them? Come on. And what wireless controller are you talking about? The 360 had the first wireless pack-in for a widely release console, i.e. not the WonderMega 2, did it not?

So not a pack-in. There were after market wireless controllers for the NES (that Nintendo didn't make) and maybe even before. I believe Sega/Victor was the first to pack them in and then Microsoft again "popularized" them.

edit: We need NeoZeedeater back to rattle off the list of shit Nintendo didn't invent that idiots give them credit for.
