I'm not exactly sure how Kat's a "valley girl", either. She seems pretty typical for a teenage girl (being interested in boys), but she's also surprisingly upbeat and eager to help, even when people treat her like shit. Considering how little development she seems to get, she's quite endearing really.

On an unrelated note, I do wish they'd used the back touch panel for evasion swipes instead of the screen.
