I'm about as big a Darkstalkers fan as you can be. I'd kill for a new game in the series...I still have my Saturn set up for occasional bouts of Vampire Savior.

As for favorite characters, Huitzil, Jedah, Morrigan, Pyron, and B.B. Hood own joo, meng.

As for moves, No One is right on the money with Lilith's Gloomy Puppet Show super. The one where Jedah writes and signs a contract with your blood (by using his opponent as a pen) and the one where Dimitri gives his opponent a sex change are great, too.

I'm hoping (and I realize this meets the Einsteinian definition of insanity) that Darkstalkers is a small enough series in comparison to Street Fighter, MvC, and Tekken that Capcom will release a complete game for $60 and not try all the DLC bullshit.

Hopefully the DLC will be just a Super/Ultimate revision. That said, I don't want retailer or preorder exclusive stuff.
To start with, the full lineup of Saturn Vampire Savior plus another 6 characters and a new boss would be fine- even if Donovan returns as Dee, his fully vampire form seen in Vampire: Darkstalkers Collection on PS2.

That does make me ask the question which I thought previously - if they were to make actual new characters, what could they be?

It seems like the VS roster covers just about every major mythological / fairy tale character type.

Maybe a Scarecrow and a Gargoyle. Anything else?

It's almost the only fucking thing my wife cares about now.

I definitely would approve of them putting in a ghost of HHH Holmes into the game, I'll give it that much at least.

Both good suggestions. A golem or elemental might work well also, as would a Lovecraftian-style monster.
