It's not so much that I don't get the appeal from their end, I just don't get why people would back it.

It's not coincidence that backers and suckers are 71% the same.

I don't see the issue. If you want a game that most publishers wouldn't touch with a 10 foot pole and these guys are willing to make it, what's the issue? That they've done it before successfully? That they don't want to lose money doing it?

I seriously don't get the complaint. Is this some weird honor thing, like not throwing in fighting games?

As a backer, don't you generally pay less than the new price of the game once it releases? What more should you, as a consumer buying a video game, care about?

Are recording artists who don't go through the major labels and sell straight to people also commiting some strange sin in the chain of command?

  5. no it's that it won't get made unless people buy it in advance and there's no recourse for it being shit when you paid for it already

seriously, what kind of ? is that

That's something you have to evaluate on a case by case basis.

Here, it sounds like they have delivered successfully on Kickstarters past so your weird little grumpy argument doesn't work too well.

You're arguing against KS in general, which is not what this is about.

  7. nope

If they ask for the money before they write the songs, yes.

I think people would have some questions if Mick Jagger or Eddie Vedder put up a KS.

  10. I don't think Brian Fargo's on that level. The gaming equivalent to that will be the inevitable Kojimastarter.
