So you're telling me people overreacted to its superficial qualities and its actually really good and pretty fun-awful?
I'm SHOCKED.
The demo converted me, still wish it was hand-drawn
Dammit Cheebs. Your ranking of Double Dragon games is almost exactly identical* to mine, so clearly we're in agreement about what makes one good. I'm going to have to give this a few more shots and see if it clicks.
*Except that I'd put Super Double Dragon one level lower and put Return of Double Dragon in its original spot.
I'd drop NES Double Dragon 3 one slot, at least. That game was ass.

This game is ridiculous. The MUSIC, holy shit. I hate to say it, but it turned out alright, just wish it was hand drawn. The floaty stuff doesn't bother me anymore and Bro-Op is a lot of fun.
PAX-E build was missing a LOT of the game's character. No voices, no music, etc.
Maybe the game plays alright, but it doesn't sound like it plays like Double Dragon. I need to try it.

I think Mzo is closer to the truth that you, Mech. A floaty game, if designed that way isn't flawed. It might not be the way we think of Double Dragon, but it's not flawed. The fact that I can make the fucking jumps without falling to my death should have been the first indicator.
HOW CAN YOU NOT DIG THIS?! http://virt.bandcamp.com/track/city-...go-neon-jungle It's so unapologetic with it's 80's theming.

The presentation is definitely great, but I just cannot get myself to like the gameplay at all.
It's just so slow and clunky.
Videos made the game look slow and clunky... then I played it, I didn't feel it was slow and clunky at all. Then, you level up and it gets even faster.
