I don't see the point of remaking Highlander.

Not because the original is unassailably great, mind you. It's kind of a dumb movie. The special effects are shitty, the premise is stupid, and Christopher Lambert is a terrible actor. It works because of the Queen soundtrack and the sincere committment of the actors to its weirdly epic sci-fi/fantasy premise. Also, Sean Connery. AND THE KURGAN.

I assume that the remake will have none of these things except the vaguely stupid story premise. And that ain't enough.

I actually liked him when I first saw him in Two Guys, a girl, and a pizza place. I liked him in Van Wilder and Waiting.
But then it became apparent that he was another one note type of dude. A Jack Black. Or Will Ferrel. I lost interest.
He's not bad. He's just Ryan Reynolds.
